About the speaker:
David Bornstein is author of How to Change the World: Social Entrepreneurs and the Power of New Ideas, which has been published in 21 languages and acclaimed “a bible in the field’ (Nicholas D. Kristof in The New York Times). His other books The Price of a Dream: The Story of the Grameen Bank has played a key role in building a global understanding of micro-finance. His articles and interviews have been published in 15 countries. For over 20 years Mr. Bornstein has been the leading expert in social innovation and a key figure in the promotion of social entrepreneurship in many places, including Canada, Mexico, the United States, France, Spain, Germany, England, Ireland, Switzerland, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Singapore, Taiwan and China.
He has been an Avina Leader, a senior fellow at Civic Initiative, a founding board member of VisionSpring, a member of the Clinton Global Initiative and the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Social Entrepreneurship. He has also served as a mentor to many social entrepreneurs, advised numerous foundations on strategy, and spoken to 300 audiences over the past six years. For his books and contributions in the field of social entrepreneurship and human security he has received many awards.
Mr. Bornstein is at present writing a book on the key patterns of social innovation that have merged over the past 20 years and this Public Lecture should provide a good glimpse of his observations and latest thoughts on the subject.

浩洋青年商會與香港社會創業論壇首次合辦全港第一屆「青年社企創業者大賞2011」，為表揚成功之18- 40歲香港社會企業家的領導才能、創意理念和解決社會問題的決心，並藉此讓大眾認識社企的意義和了解其運作程序，從而引領更多八十後青年人實現創立社會企業的夢想，以社企作為事業發展的選擇，三位獲選的傑出青年社企創業者，將每人獨得十萬元奬金作為其社企經營一年的財政支持。
